Pumpkin Patch

I know that you know…but let me say…. BIG fan of fall!

I love Fall flavors like pumpkin muffins, pumpkin smoothies, pumpkin pancakes…it’s only natural that I love the good ole pumpkin patch!
In Virginia they have pumpkin patches where you actually cut the pumpkin off the vine.  It’s awesome.  Kyle and I visited one in VA in 2008! I haven’t found one of those yet in Central Florida.

Mom & I – 2008

We did, however, find a sweet little pumpkin picking patch in Ocoee that had a pretty darn impressive selection of pumpkins!
What kind of pumpkin do you go for?

I like pretty ones! 🙂 A nice color, symmetrical shape, with a good stem.  A stem is a must for me.

Kyle, however, is the opposite.  He searches….and searches….for an “ugly” pumpkin.

I call this the “Pirates of the Caribbean” pumpkin

He really wanted a white or green pumpkin so we spent about 15 minutes searching for those. Then he had a vision of a pumpkin carving design that required a “tall” pumpkin so we spent another 20 minutes searching for a tall/ugly pumpkin combo.
Kyle informed me that when he found the perfect pumpkin, he would signal me by holding it up in the air like Simba in The Lion King. He’s a keeper!

Hello tricep.

The pumpkin patch was filled with families snapping photos and picking the perfect orange gourd. I love fall and more than that I love family traditions!

Do you get pumpkins for Halloween?

Polie does!

Love and Jack ‘O Lanterns,

  1. I just realized the other day actually that my family hasn't gotten a pumpkin in the last several years – total bummer, but makes sense seeing as only one kid is young enough to trick or treat now (my little bro) and none of us would get too excited about a jack o lantern anyway. I miss the childhood stuff 😦 but I still am obsessed with cute Halloween decor!

  2. I love your shirt, too cute!I bought two larger, round pumpkin for carving this year, then I bought a few odd shaped smaller ones that are different colors too for decor on the front porch!

  3. I love pumpkin picking! We have a huge farm right down the street from us that has festivals every weekend including pumpkin picking 🙂 It's on my to-do list for this weekend!

  4. love your shirt 🙂 we picked out pumpkins this weekend. i love the tall ones too!

  5. we went to the pumpkin patch this weekend also 🙂 Love it!!
